Witton Castle Lakes Report 02/1/09
The sporting tickets have been getting the best of the action this week at Witton Castle Lakes, Showing what great sport you can find this winter for £14.
Top rod was Andy Grabham from Crook who returned 17.
John Parker of Fir Tree released 14 and regular rod Geoff Wharton of Leeds put back 12.
All 3 anglers were using a cocktail of a CDC loopwing on a dropper and bloodworm on the point. This tactic has been working to great effect for a couple of weeks now and looks as though it will continue to do so as the temperatures drop.
West Denton rod Tony Paterson had a cracking day returning 11 on a copper buzzer that included fish of 10lb,8lb and 6lb.
Fish of the week goes to Alan"rossi"Ross of Bishop Auckland who returned a winter beauty of 15lb on a cats whisker. This was Alans best ever trout and he was cock a hoop as he left the fishery.
